At My Age. Terms

Terms of Service

Effective October 6, 2026

The short version

  • At My Age lines up publicly documented moments from other lives against your own age. It is information, not advice, and no one featured is affiliated with us.
  • You need an account to use the app. Your birthday, the people you pick and your records are saved to that account, so they follow you to a new phone.
  • The free plan compares you with 1 person at a time (you can change who as often as you like) and saves 10 records a month. Unlimited removes both limits. It is sold through the App Store; subscriptions renew until you cancel in your Apple settings, and refunds are handled by Apple.
  • When Unlimited ends, nothing is deleted.
  • If a fact is wrong, tap “Report incorrect info”. We check it and correct or remove it.

1. The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Ailen (애일런), Seoul, Republic of Korea (“we”). They apply to the At My Age app and to the website at atmyage.app, which introduces the app and hands sign-in and invite links over to it (together, “the app”). By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains what data is involved and is part of these terms.

2. What At My Age is

The app shows dated moments from the lives of historical figures, public figures and fictional characters, each rewritten in our own words and linked to a public source, and lines them up against your age so you can keep your own records and plans beside them. It is an informational and reflective tool. It is not medical, financial, career or other professional advice. None of the people, estates, authors or rights holders featured is affiliated with, endorses or sponsors At My Age.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may buy Unlimited only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.

4. Your account

The app needs an account. You sign in with Apple, with Google where the app offers it, or with a one-time link we email to you. There are no passwords. Each email address has one account; signing in a different way with the same email address opens the same account.

Your birthday, your name if you add one, the people you pick and your records and plans are saved to your account on our servers. That is what lets you sign in on another device and find everything there. Keep access to the email address or Apple or Google account you sign in with: it is the only way into your account, and anyone who controls it can sign in as you.

Changes need a connection. Offline, the app shows the copy last saved on your device, and you can read it. Adding, editing or deleting is kept only after our server has confirmed it; if the server cannot be reached, the change is not saved and the app tells you. If the same record is changed on two devices, the later save wins.

You can download a copy of your data (Settings → Download my data) and delete your account (Settings → Delete account) at any time. Deleting an account is permanent and we cannot undo it. See section 16.

A record you delete disappears from the app at once and is removed from our servers 30 days after you delete it. When you delete your account, everything in it is removed from our servers immediately, and we also ask RevenueCat, the service that tracks purchase status for us, to delete its customer record for your account. Purchase and transaction records held by Apple, and records we are required by law to keep, are retained for the legally required period, as the Privacy Policy explains.

5. The free plan

The free plan lets you compare yourself with 1 person at a time on your timeline (you can swap that person as often as you like; comparing several people side by side is part of Unlimited) and add 10 records a month (records and plans count together; the month is the calendar month in which a record was created). Sharing or saving a card opens one more person for seven days. These limits are enforced by our server and are shown in the app; we may change them for the future, and a change will not delete anything you have already saved.

6. Unlimited

Plans and prices

Unlimited removes the limits in section 5: as many people on your timeline and as many records and plans as you like. It is offered as Monthly and Yearly subscriptions and as a one-time Lifetime purchase. At the time of writing the US prices are $3.99 a month, $23.99 a year and $14.99 for Lifetime (a launch price; the regular price is $49.99). The price you pay is the one the App Store shows you, in your currency, before you confirm; taxes may be included or added where the law requires.

Billing and automatic renewal

Purchases are made through Apple’s App Store with your Apple Account. We never see your card details. Monthly and Yearly renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in force, until you cancel. You cancel in your Apple subscription settings (in the app: Settings → Manage subscription; or iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future charges, and Unlimited continues to the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or deleting your At My Age account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your Apple settings first. If a subscription price changes, Apple will notify you in advance as its rules require.

Your purchase and your account

A purchase is attached to the At My Age account that was signed in when you bought it. If Unlimited does not appear after a purchase, or after you reinstall or change phone, use “Restore purchases”. If you delete your At My Age account, Unlimited ends with it, including a Lifetime purchase. A purchase itself stays with your Apple ID under Apple’s rules, and “Restore purchases” in a later account on the same Apple ID may bring it back, but we cannot promise it; the app warns you before you delete.

Lifetime

“Lifetime” means Unlimited for as long as we operate At My Age, with no further charge. It is not a promise that the service will exist forever. If we ever discontinue it, we will give notice in the app and on the site.

Refunds

Because Apple takes the payment, refunds are requested from and decided by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com), under Apple’s terms. We cannot issue a refund for an App Store purchase ourselves. If a purchase is refunded, Unlimited from that purchase ends. Nothing here limits refund or withdrawal rights that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived.

7. Invite rewards

Every account has an invite code. When a new member enters a friend’s code, or signs up after opening that friend’s invite link, both get 1 month (30 days) of Unlimited, free. The rules:

  • A code can be used only in the first 14 days of a new account, once per account, and you cannot use your own.
  • The person who invites can earn up to 12 months in total this way. Friends they invite after that still get their own month.
  • A gifted month does not run while you have a paid plan. The remaining days are saved and start by themselves when the paid plan ends. With Lifetime, which never ends, a gifted month stays unused.
  • Gifted time has no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.

Invite rewards are a courtesy for genuine invitations. If we see accounts created only to collect rewards, or other abuse, we may withhold or remove the gifted time. We may change or end the invite programme for the future.

8. When Unlimited ends

When a subscription or a gifted month ends, your account goes back to the free plan. Nothing is deleted.

  • People. If you have more people on your timeline than the free plan compares, you choose who stays. The others are saved on your account and come back if you go Unlimited again.
  • Records. All your records stay readable. While the current month holds more records than the free limit, you can read and delete records but not add or edit them. That lifts when the month is back at or under the limit, when the next month starts, or when you go Unlimited again. A record deleted during that time cannot be brought back.

9. The App Store

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for handling claims about it, including product liability claims, claims that the app does not meet a legal requirement, or claims that it infringes someone’s intellectual property. If the app fails to conform to a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You may use the app only on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple’s usage rules allow. You confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Your records and cards

Anything you write in the app is yours. We store it on our servers only to show it to you on your devices, and we do not use it for anything else. A profile photo, if you add one, stays on your phone and is not uploaded. When you share a card, you decide where it goes and you are responsible for it; do not include other people’s private information or anything unlawful. You may not use the app to harass anyone or to imply that a featured person endorses you or your business.

11. Our content

The app’s text, design, code and the entries we have written are protected by copyright and other laws and belong to us or our licensors. Facts and dates themselves belong to no one; we link every entry to its source so you can check it. You may use the app for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy the dataset, scrape or bulk-download the app, resell it, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows regardless of this clause.

Names of works and characters are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify them. Portraits come from Wikimedia Commons under public domain or Creative Commons licences and are shown with their credits. Links to Wikipedia and other sources lead to sites we do not control.

12. Accuracy and corrections

We work from public sources and rewrite each entry ourselves. Even so, errors happen. If you find one, tap “Report incorrect info” on the entry or email us. We check each report and then correct, keep or remove the entry. If you are a featured person, an estate or a rights holder and want an entry or a portrait removed, email us; we act on such requests promptly and do not argue about it.

13. Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the app or its infrastructure, access it by automated means, attempt to bypass limits or payment, create accounts to farm invite rewards, impersonate us or anyone else, or use the app for anything unlawful.

14. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Third-party sites, sign-in providers, payment providers and app stores are governed by their own terms.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim or USD 20. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits; in those places they apply only as far as the law permits, and nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

16. Ending things

You can stop using the app at any time. Signing out leaves your account as it is. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) permanently removes your account and everything saved to it from our servers, including your birthday, your people, your records, and any unused invite reward. It does not cancel a subscription and does not refund a purchase; cancel in your Apple settings first. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is removed.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or abuse the service. We may change or discontinue the app; if we discontinue it, we will give notice in the app and on the site so that you can download your data first.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and for material changes we will also say so in the app. Using the app after a change means you accept it. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel your subscription in your Apple settings and delete your account.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the courts of Seoul have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim there. Before any formal step, please email us and give us 30 days to sort it out; most problems are fixed the same day.
